Founded in 2000, EnWorkz
has assembled an experienced team of business managers,
computer scientists, and enterprise software experts
who are focused on delivering solutions for the energy
industry. With offices in Austin and Singapore, EnWorkz
is poised to work with energy companies around the world.
Management Team
Bill Tan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer
For more than 15 years, Bill Tan has been involved in
applications of information technology to business problems.
Before co-founding EnWorkz, he worked as an IT management
consultant at Genesis Development, where he provided
leadership in design, implementation, and management
of projects involving several energy companies. His
vision for EnWorkz was formed while serving as the senior
architectural consultant for Enron's billing and web-based
customer management systems. Bill has a masters degree
in computer science from the University of Texas at
Austin, where he graduated summa cum laude, and was
a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Bill has also been awarded
US patents for his work done in distributed computing
for advanced process control in semiconductor manufacturing.
Dr. Jim Christian, Chief Technology Officer Jim
Christian brings a wide range of technical and business
experience to EnWorkz. Prior to joining EnWorkz, he
managed product development and marketing teams at Trilogy,
an enterprise software company. He has also held senior
technical positions at large and small companies, and
he served as an associate professor of computer science
at a top Japanese university. His technical experience
includes enterprise software, mathematical logic, artificial
intelligence, optimization, neural networks, financial
modeling, and advanced programming language design.
He has published a number of business and technical
papers. Jim holds a B.A. in computer science from Harvard,
as well as both a Ph.D. in computer science and an M.B.A.
from the University of Texas at Austin.
Joseph Tan, Founder and Executive Vice President Before
co-founding EnWorkz, Joseph Tan owned and managed a
successful business reselling energy-saving technologies
in Singapore. He has more than seven years of experience
in information technology and technical sales. He started
his career as a systems data analyst before becoming
a sales manager at Symbolic Technologies. Later, he
joined Civic Lion Engineering as a channel sales director.
He holds an undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from
the University of Texas at Austin, and both a masters
degree in communication software management and a postgraduate
degree in data communications and networking from from
the Information Communication Institute of Singapore.
Steve Apple, Vice President, Sales
Steve is a Mechanical Engineer by training, and has spent
the last seventeen years in sales and sales management
of software solutions within the energy sector. He comes
to EnWorkz from ITC where he was Director of Sales. He
has held sales and sales management positions at Gensym
Corporation, and Pavilion Technologies prior to that.
Steve is highly experienced in the specific applications
of technology solutions to energy related problems. He
brings this experience to EnWorkz to assure that our pricing
methodologies, sales and marketing strategies, and general
marketing approach align with our corporate principals
of providing high value to our clients. Steve is a Mechanical
Engineer by training, graduating Magna Cum Laude from
North Carolina State University, and Michigan Tech University.
Dr.
Xiang-Seng Lee, Chief Scientist
Dr. Lee joins EnWorkz from i2 Technologies, a leading
e-business software company. At i2, he was a senior
technologist leading the development of an integrated
build-to-order e-business system. He has also worked
as a project lead and technical architect at Trilogy,
where he contributed to more than a dozen sales automation
project deployments at Fortune 500 companies. Earlier
in his career, Xiang-Seng served as an associate professor
at National Taiwan Normal University. His technical
experience includes object-oriented design, databases,
knowledge-based systems, Web technologies, enterprise
software, and nuclear fusion. He holds two Ph.D. degrees
-- one in physics and one in computer science -- both
from the University of Texas at Austin.
